The IIC is a principled Shariah-based adjudication, mediation and advisory body serving individuals, families, institutions and communities seeking Islamic guidance and resolution. 

 

Grounded in the traditions of Islamic justice and committed to impartiality, dignity, fairness,confidentiality and ethical responsibility, the IIC is anchored in the principle of Ḥaakimiyyah, recognising Allah as the supreme source of authority. It prioritises reconciliation and undertakes adjudication with measured seriousness and principled restraint when necessary.

 

The IIC does not operate as a secular judicial body nor replace civil courts; participation is voluntary and intended for those who seek outcomes rooted in Islamic law and moral conduct.

 

Through clear procedures, calm deliberation and steadfast adherence to Shariah principles, the Independent Islamic Court provides a trusted forum for resolving complex and sensitive matters with balance, clarity, and respect.

What’s the difference between mediation, arbitration, and adjudication?
Mediation is a facilitated agreement. Arbitration is a binding decision by an agreed arbitrator. Adjudication is a formal ruling by the court/panel under Islamic law.
Are consultations confidential?
